Helping sack groceries

Logan went with me to the church this morning to sack bags for the our food pantry. I usually sack once a month with my friend Robyn-though she's in Germany on vacation this month so it was just Logan and I sacking. We did 40 bags today. He's helped a couple of times before too. He likes pushing the carts around and lining up the cans on the table.

Retirement Party for Dennis

Dan's boss at Blue Sky Tours decided to retire and last night the company had a retirement party for employees and spouses at Sandia Resort and Casino. It was a really, nice place. We've been to the casino part before but haven't been since they added on the resort part of it.

There was a huge buffet of appetizers, they were very good. The desert buffet was huge-3 different kinds of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, carrot cake, cherry cobbler, fresh fruit to go with the chocolate sauce and a couple more I can't remember now. We forgot to take the camera so we don't have any pictures.

Some of Dan's co-workers did a skit of Dennis at work that was so funny. It was a fun night. I forgot the camera but I did bring home some sugar packets that I thought was very cute for a casino. All the sugar packets had a different playing card on them. Too funny!

Library Prize

During the summer months the ABQ libraries have a summer reading program and for every 10 hours you read you get a prize. This week Logan finished his first 10 hours or reading (or being read to). He picked a blue dog stuffed animal and a kaleidoscope for his prize.

Stampin' Up! also announced a new line of products their going to start selling. It's a home decor line. It is called “Décor Elements”. They are self-adhesive vinyl elements which are easy to apply and remove. I got to pre-order some last week and here's one that I put in my staming room. I'm currently working on our bathroom too, I put flowers up in there. But I have to order more of a different color to finish that project.

Tim McGraw Concert

For Fathers Day Dan wanted tickets to the Tim McGraw concert on June 19. So that's where we were last night.

Tim McGraw played at the Journal Pavilion, it's actually a really cool place. We've been there before but it's been awhile. Last time we were there was for the Dave Matthew's concert a few years ago. It's on the south end of the city and over looks the city. It's also close to the airport (south of the airport actually), so we got to see planes land throughout the night. You can get lawn seating, or chairs down below closer to the stage . We got the lawn seating. The lawn isn't far from the stage and at Journal Pavilion there isn't a bad seat in the house.

We didn't take very many pictures of the concert. It was a good concert. Tim played for amost 2 hours. His opening act was Jason Aldean. We left a tiny bit early to get home to our baby sitter :) and beat traffic. Here are a couple of pictures.

On a side note, one of my braclets sold in our church gallery (the red one). I'm currently working on projects to enter in our state fair.

Sunset right before the concert.

Lunch in the Park

For the past few days we have been going to the park for lunch. Monday-Friday the city provides free lunches for kids age 1-18. They are pretty healthy lunches and Logan likes to play in the park before eating, (though the slides and swings are usually to hot to use at lunch time). The park is really close to our house so it's a nice outing that doesn't require a car trip. Here's some picture from our picnic today.
On the menu today, chicken nuggets, carrot sticks, plums and chocolate milk.

Mmmm, chicken nuggets my favorite!

Chocolate milk, Daddy's favorite!

Geez mom, can't I eat my lunch without you taking pictures of me.

Logan helped me bake cookies for VBS. We made Christmas sugar cookies since Christmas is the theme. They get to decorate the cookies.

Fort in Living Room

Since it's getting pretty hot here (we learned last night on the news that June in typically NM hottest month) we've been playing indoors lately. Yesterday, we built a fort and Logan had a lot of fun playing in it and reading books in it.

Weekend in Chama

We went to Chama, NM last weekend. We didn't get to ride the train but it was fun to see it and we got some fun pictures. Logan was a little scared of the loud train whistle. Logan really liked going to the Chama River and throwing rocks in. But his favorite part of the weekend was collecting sticks.

Our church art gallery is switching shows this week. Here are some things I made that they accepted into the gallery. The first one is a watercolor stamped image. The second are some braclets I made using brads.

On another note we are without a computer for a while so we won't be able to post for a few days. Check back in a week or so for more posts.

Overnight stamping swap

Last weekend I went to a bed and breakfast with 9 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The bed and breakfast was in the Sandia Mountains just outside ABQ. Here is the view from my balcony. We didn't get to bed until about 2:30 when we finished stamping.

The theme for our swap was over the top gifts. Over the top meaning a project you could do an entire class on. Here are the 10 projects we did.
